About this artwork
From of a series of landscapes created in 2017. These were part of an exhibition in Direktorenhaus Berlin in 2018
Artwork description - Having grown up on the edge of a forest, woodland landscapes have become a recurring theme in my work. I am interested in the way memory reshapes our experience of place, blurring the boundaries between observation and imagination. Through layered surfaces and ambiguous forms, I seek to create dreamlike landscapes… that feel both familiar and elusive.
Method - My work moves between physical and digital methods. I often begin by assembling collages from found and painted materials. These compositions are scanned and transformed digitally, allowing me to adjust colour, scale, and structure. The image is then transferred onto MDF using a gelatine-based transfer technique, creating an imperfect, textured surface that becomes the foundation for further painting in oils.
