About this artwork
"LEAVING ECHOES"
One of a series of images taken in 2019 in Ballybunion, county Kerry, Ireland. I decided to create a piece of Art with the Active Retired Group and that in doing so, will maybe end the stereotyping of older people and make the community more aware of how much more there is to people once they have retired, taking time to engage and be inspired by there wisdom. In this vivid portrayal, I sought to blend realism with a touch of surrealism,… using acrylics, lacquer, and resin to enhance the texture and depth. The image captures an elderly woman, immersed in reading papers that whimsically disperse into the wind, symbolizing the fleeting nature of time and the resonance of our past experiences. The artwork intends to evoke nostalgia and reflection, presenting a serene yet poignant moment that invites viewers into a narrative of enduring memories and stories told through time.
« My creative process is always evolving, I am constantly intrigued by the endless possibilities of creating with digital technology fused with the real world materials of Canvas, paper, paint and other materials. »
David Morrison, a seasoned visual artist, adeptly integrates photography, digital manipulation, and various materials in his work. Infusing real-world elements with digital technology, he alters light, tones, and colors, using software like a paintbrush while adding tangible materials for depth. His art, a harmonious blend of surrealism, pop art and contemporary, radiates an emotional connection to nature, capturing the viewer into its fantastic narratives. Above all, my Art does not have to be understood to be enjoyed.
