About this artwork
"SMOKING"
One of a series of images taken in 2019 in Ballybunion, county Kerry, Ireland. I decided to create a piece of Art with the Active Retired Group and that in doing so, will maybe end the stereotyping of older people and make the community more aware of how much more there is to people once they have retired, taking time to engage and be inspired by there wisdom. In this vibrant fusion of fine art and surrealism, I explored the enigmatic aura… of everyday rebellion. Using acrylic and resin, I've captured the raw, untamed spirit of a woman engulfed by her own world of thought and defiance. The warm, explosive backdrop contrasts with her cool, collected demeanor, illuminating her as the calm epicenter in a storm of chaotic emotions. This piece is an ode to personal freedom and the complexities of self-expression, aiming to add a bold, introspective energy to any space.
