Notre-Dame-des-Pins is a parish municipality in the Beauce-Sartigan Regional County Municipality in the Chaudière-Appalaches region of Quebec, Canada. My painting is of this iconic church in the Quebec countryside in the season of autumn. The church of Notre Dame des Pins (formerly Notre-Dame-de-la-Providence) was erected in 1930 and designed by the architect Lorenzo Lauger. It was built by Ludger Bérubé.

David Tomlin is an exciting Canadian painter who has exhibited his work nationally, including in the US, Canada and France. He is influenced by Impressionism, and more profoundly by Canadian First Nations artists in their representations of humanity's relationship to the natural world. Tomlin's semi-abstract style showcases purpose, intensity and an energizing visual flourish. Together with a love of colour and a passion for design, Tomlin's paintings evoke a sense of contemplative spirituality expressing his understanding of the three ‘transcendentals’- BEAUTY, GOODNESS, and TRUTH.
