About this artwork
The work entitled "Ocreterre" is an abstract painting relying on the use of a restricted palette composed mainly of red and yellow ocher, red earth, burnt shadow and white. An oblique and luminous horizon comes to abrupt the verticality of the work. It is punctuated by touches of red earth and separates the canvas into two distinct parts, one rather telluric, the other more aerial and nebulous. The harmony of colors takes precedence over figurative…
evocation.

David Vall is an artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Italy, Spain, and England. Inspired by natural elements, movement, and light, his works convey an ambivalence between darkness and light, interweaving mystery between surface and depth. Vall's bold abstractions are most often created using acrylics on canvas.
