About this artwork
This work was inspired by themes of transformation, wisdom, and the evolving nature of identity. The serpent has long appeared throughout mythology and spiritual traditions as a symbol of renewal, growth, and hidden knowledge. I was interested in pairing that symbolism with a simplified, mask-like human form that feels both contemporary and timeless.
I hope viewers reflect on the parts of themselves that are constantly changing and the wisdom that… can emerge through life’s transitions. The relationship between the figure and the serpent invites questions about protection, intuition, and personal evolution.
I chose acrylic for its ability to create bold, luminous color and sharp graphic contrasts. The stylized forms and simplified composition allow symbolism and emotion to take center stage, creating an image that feels playful, accessible, and open to interpretation.
