About this artwork
With Parietal II — Attraction Series, I wanted the image to feel suspended between stillness and uncertainty. The figure stands quietly within the space, yet something remains unresolved around her. The light defines the body while also isolating it, creating a tension between presence and distance.
This work emerged from the abstract language of the Parietal series, where surfaces, traces, and unstable gestures gradually suggested the possibility… of a figure. I was not interested in illustration, but in extending the atmosphere of the abstraction into a perceptible space.
The restrained interior, the large window, and the solitary figure create a silence that feels almost fragile. Part of my ongoing exploration of what I describe as a pedagogy of the gaze, the Attraction Series invites a slower relationship with perception, atmosphere, and suspended narrative.
