About this artwork
Little or nothing to celebrate, a particular, unimaginable period that reached us like that inevitable wave we see advancing on the horizon and that we watch arrive, astonished from the beach, until it reaches us, irremediably sweeps us away, showing us how weak and fragile we are as a species.
The works I include in this series are perhaps among the few positive things I can personally take away. They have been the mechanism I have found to channel… my capacity for resilience, my stubborn resistance in the face of adversity. Like a cannibal, I have devoured poets, writers, and philosophers, and I have dared to reinterpret them as a product of my fears, uncertainties, anxieties, and weaknesses.
Well, from my simple condition as a human being.
