About this artwork
The watercolor evokes the feeling of a quiet miracle unfolding at the boundary between seasons. In a cool, translucent palette of blues, lilacs, and muted golden tones, movement seems to emerge from stillness — as if butterflies are forming out of the very air. They are not simply depicted; they appear, like winter’s breath suddenly taking shape.
Leaves and flowers intertwine into a mosaic-like texture where the line between plant and air dissolves.… The butterflies feel like extensions of leaf veins, reflections of petals, a play of light within a frosty space. It seems as though winter itself — usually associated with silence and stillness — begins to tremble softly from within.
The work is filled with fragility and light. There are no harsh contrasts; instead, gentle transitions and delicate linework create a crystalline transparency. “Winter Flutter” tells a story of hidden movement within cold stillness, and of how lightness and life can be born from the invisible.
Ginsburg, an artist trained in pen & ink, aquarelle, and graphic design, now specializes in acrylic painting. She blends expressionist abstraction with impressionist landscapes and Art Deco influences, using unconventional tools and materials like leaves and dried flowers. Her artworks radiate emotion, portraying her personal sensory interpretation of the world; a meadow becomes a melody, a sunset, the spicy scent of summer fields.
