About this artwork
My work continues in filigree a path started by my grandfather and then my father after him. Indeed my grandfather Marcel Reychman put
point Paul Grimault's animation system. The King and the Mockingbird, the first film I saw in my
life, was my first aesthetic shock. The images of the robot from The King and the Mockingbird became anchored in
me since childhood. My father, himself an artist, has a collection of old toys and robots
mechanical… devices that filled the shelves of the apartment I grew up in. My choice of
artistic subjects as well as the childlike look with which I imagine my works is the fruit of this
double universe.
The idea of this project is to reproduce on a human scale a robot from my father's collection, and its packaging box. This play on perceptions echoes the child's imagination, which plays with the notion of scale where a small toy can suddenly invite itself into reality, at our size.
