About this artwork
Winter Morning is an introspective work, bathed in deep, soothing blue tones, traversed by fine, luminous yellow lines, like bursts of intuition in the inner silence. It evokes that suspended moment, often wintry in the symbolic sense, when the being withdraws to better find itself.
The painting reflects the slow pace of understanding, the patient maturation of ideas and emotions. It is neither a state of joy nor sadness, but an essential in-between:… that of withdrawal, of the pause necessary for any transformation.
The blues envelop, soothe, and create a space conducive to introspection. The yellow lines, discreet but present, mark glimmers of clarity, the beacons on the personal path of evolution.
Winter Morning speaks of the long term, of the step-by-step process, of those phases of life where we withdraw in order to be better reborn—a tribute to slow inner alchemy.
Eric Delahaye, a visual artist who works primarily with paint, first gained recognition as a performance painter. Employing a palette knife, he has perfected his unique style, blending abstraction, semi-abstraction, and conceptual art. Through his "Vibrations" and "Effusion" series, he expresses his inner contrasts: masculine and feminine, shadow and light, joy and sorrow. His works evoke a profound sense of freedom, presenting a universe filled with emotion and reflection. Today, Eric is forging his own path in contemporary abstraction. His works are as much mirrors of emotions as they are bursts of life.
