About this artwork
Diego Velazquez (1599-1660) was adored in particular by the Impressionists, for whom he was a reference. For this tribute, I take up the colors and contrasts of the Spanish master with watercolor and Indian ink. The colored horizontals are like a reference to the horizon of a minimalist landscape of color. This expressionist creation is full of energy and character.
