Where the Road Disappears
A road cuts through the reddish-brown landscape of the Finnmark Plateau. In Norway. It stretches straight ahead, descending gently before rising again toward the horizon. In the distance, a truck moves toward the point where earth and sky seem to meet. A dark shadow on the left interrupts the warm tones of the landscape, adding a subtle sense of uncertainty.
The photograph explores the tension between certainty and uncertainty.… The road suggests direction, purpose, and progress, yet the destination remains unseen. The horizon marks the limit of vision, not the limit of possibility. The truck continues forward with apparent confidence, moving into what cannot be known.
Within Uncertain Certainty, the image reflects a fundamental human condition: we seek clarity and control, while the future remains beyond our sight. The shadow reminds us of doubt and risk, yet we keep moving.
Certainty lies not in knowing what awaits us, but in continuing the journey.
