Cranes

The cranes evoke the annual gathering at Hornborgasjön, one of Europe’s most important resting places for migratory birds, where thousands arrive each spring in a ritual often described as a dance. Migration… carries both certainty and vulnerability — an instinctive return shaped by fragile environmental conditions. In the stillness of the image, the birds appear suspended between movement and rest, belonging both to the landscape and to a journey beyond it. The photograph reflects on nature’s recurring cycles at a time when ecological balance can no longer be taken for granted.
