About this artwork
During a walk on the beach in Norderney, I happily collected razor clams.
I was fascinated by the structures of razor clams, and I envisioned an image of razor clams... small shells and sewn flowers arranged in tranquil rows. This is how the image "Star Flowers in Harmony" came about.
The razor clams stand vertically like stalks, connected to heaven, earth, and heart.
In between are core points made of small shells.
In the center are three flowers… sewn from 32 leaves. The flowers symbolize music, kindness, and strength.
Each sheet of paper gets a word, and so the words flowed onto the paper while I painted the picture onto the canvas.
Starflowers:
Life is like a star with a beautiful core.
Which we fill with our lives until we die
It then rises high in the sky and we observe it from Earth.
The stars from the heart of nature
The flowers form from the music...a star flower full of music, power and kindness.
