About this artwork
The picture is part of a series of new works in which Ernst-Martin Heel puts "orange-yellow-red tones" at the center of the color design. The energy that is visually released in this picture does not appear threatening despite the intensity. Rather, it creates a shine that brings out a feeling of warmth and aesthetic beauty. A white, diffusely breaking up everywhere, which hides worlds "like a cloud" under it, lets them shimmer through with a punishment.… Do we find echoes of cosmological processes here or are worlds within us reflected in the picture? Both interpretations are permissible, because after all there is a connection: "Inside - outside"
« For some, the motifs of the highly expressive pictures by the Bonn artist Ernst-Martin Heel resemble a natural event. -Kölner Rundschau »
Ernst-Martin Heel is an artist living in Germany. Over the past decades, he has presented his work to an art-loving public in numerous solo exhibitions and his pieces are included in private collections in the USA, Spain, and Switzerland. His art has been reviewed in various publications and national newspapers such as the WAZ (Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung). His paintings explore fundamental forces of existence in their upheavals, while maintaining an abstract and expressive formal language. However, the inherent chaos finds a rigorous harmony in his art. The principle of "floating" as a fundamental element of life is consistently reflected in his predominantly dynamic paintings.
