About this artwork
I use the visual language of the Renaissance to ironize the "primitive" nature of human status. While the royal ruff symbolizes societal ego, I replaced the face with a visceral knot of pink tubing to represent the messy emotional reality beneath our sophisticated facades. It is my study of the tangle between internal complexity and external projection.
