About this artwork
The subject, as is so often the case, comes from my personal surroundings. It's an area near my home where I sometimes walk my dogs. The snow, lightly covering the branches and ground, and the sun on the horizon made for a captivating subject. The basic structure is provided by the lithograph; with colored pencils, I tried to capture the atmosphere created by the cool color of the snow and its shadows, and the simultaneous warmth of the sun on the…
