About this artwork
Beauty compared, the classic and the modern. Aphrodite, the most significant representation of female beauty, compared with a modern Venus, on a dark night, illuminated by the moon. The mystery of seduction remains unsolved, both, undisputed protagonists, seducers, or victims. The moon is its guarantor and witness. The moon, bright and silent guardian, maternal female archetype par excellence, has always been connected to biological rhythms, to water,… to the tides, to female cycles. The "lunar feminine" is mysterious and ambiguous, it has the power to see beyond, to illuminate the shadowy areas of the soul. The technique is mixed, photographs digitally processed on canvas, or as in this case on a wooden panel, on which the color and the added scenography magically drop me in the middle of an ideal stage.
The work is authentic and was created by me in a single copy.
« A labyrinth of real and surreal subjects where seduction is the red thread that binds and the dream is the cosmic space in which to take refuge and live. »
