About this artwork
This multi media piece is a direct reference to one of the important environmental issues which affects our world today. Using a combination of recycled and up cycled materials the artist has fashioned a statement which not only questions the opposition to recycling, but puts into context the need for national and international collaboration to solve this global problem. The artist wrote:
" This is piece of work addresses one of the most pressing… issues of our times, one which can be significantly solved by the purchase of 'a bag for life'. It may seem counterproductive to produce a piece which uses recycled materials to be preserved and art; but the role of art has always been to highlight, enlighten and inform, and it in this spirit that I have made it. If society needs a window in which to view itself then art can provide it. "
« I am constantly searching for answers and questions relating to the human condition. Art reveals our greatness and our vulnerability. »
