About this artwork
This work was born as a visual and symbolic tribute to Batman, but above all to the shadow that each of us carries inside. The Shadow of Gotham represents the solitude of the hero, his silent strength and the internal conflict between justice and revenge. The figure emerges from a material night skyline, almost sculpted in the dark, with rough textures and surfaces that seem marked by time and pain.
The focal point is a luminous moon, an installation… element that, once turned on, completely transforms the scene: the light reveals hidden details, transforms shadows and generates a sense of suspension. It is a work that lives in duality - light and darkness, silence and inner noise - and invites the viewer to confront their deepest part, the one that acts without clamor but never stops fighting.
Fabio Tolu, a self-taught artist, stands out for the creation of three-dimensional compositions that blend sculpture, painting and installation, deriving from the world of construction. Using a variety of materials such as resin, stucco, acrylics, metal and LED lights, Tolu creates material and luminous works, where visual and conceptual art merge. His works reflect social, cultural and political themes, transforming ideas and reflections into concrete and powerful images, and inviting the viewer to look beyond the surface to discover hidden truths.
