About this artwork
In this intimate and symbolic work, the Minotaur is reimagined not as a monstrous figure, but as a small, vulnerable being — gently learning to walk under the guidance of a kind, maternal presence.
This act of walking becomes a metaphor for beginning again: for healing, for reclaiming movement after dislocation, and for growing into a new self.
The myth is transformed — exile becomes rebirth, and tenderness replaces fear. It is through care, not… violence, that this journey unfolds.
Farzaneh Ravesh, born in Tehran in 1981, is a talented painter and advocate of art education. Her techniques are inspired by greats such as Picasso, repeating and reinterpreting themes. Her emotionally charged works reflect the horrors and suffering of her homeland, Iran. At the heart of her work are always repetitions of previous artworks as a result of repeated historical events, which offers a special insight into the recurring nature of history.
