About this artwork
In terms of art history, my recent paintings refer to the works of artists such as Picasso. It is always fascinating to discover the parallels and differences between my works here and Picasso's works. Picasso himself engaged with the masters of art history more intensively than any other modern artist. It is only since the development of a modern concept of art that artists have found it difficult to copy or even simply to borrow from historical… models. In this type of painting, the repetitions of earlier works of art because of repetition of moments of History, becomes the focus of artistic creation.
Farzaneh Ravesh, born in Tehran in 1981, is a talented painter and advocate of art education. Her techniques are inspired by greats such as Picasso, repeating and reinterpreting themes. Her emotionally charged works reflect the horrors and suffering of her homeland, Iran. At the heart of her work are always repetitions of previous artworks as a result of repeated historical events, which offers a special insight into the recurring nature of history.
