About this artwork
Its name comes from this delicious fruit that shines like a little lantern in the varnished case of its leaves of a green that is both dark and luminous. Its flower distils a sweet perfume which, married to that of the cypress heated in the southern sun, is what comes closest to Paradise for me.
We find it in the flame that dances in the hearth, in the light of a beautiful summer sunset, on the shiny cheeks of its little cousins, the clementine,… and the mandarin, in the heart of the flesh of the melon. Its name is clear, sonorous, which sings to the ear, which speaks to the imagination, to say it alone brings to the tongue the tangy flavor of its juice squeezed on ice cubes on a hot August afternoon, so tempting that one would like to steal it, the ORANGE
