About this artwork
Just like Ralph Waldo Emerson said: “Live in the sun, swim in the sea, drink the wild air.” In this diptych (2-part painting), Françoise Wattré takes up this thought, this longing and transforms it artistically. We see an abstract ocean in magnificent shades of blue, almost feel the warmth of the sand and enjoy the rays of the sun, which dance around like spray, shimmering and swirling. The sky is part of the sea, it seems, water and air are in motion… and yet radiate a deep, relaxing force, just like the view of the ocean, enjoying the sound of the waves and forgetting the time. In this painting the artist shows how a coastal landscape can be interpreted in a contemporary way and creates further impulses for her collectors in her work.
« There is something special about beautiful art, it makes our hearts so light and bold. »
Françoise Wattré paints intuitively. The artist, who is based in Germany, also conveys moods and symbols, as pertaining to emotions. Wattré describes her art as honoring the beauty of life and wants to remind viewers of how precious it is. Although her compositions feature a varied color palette, the image of the flowers is almost always present. Her distinctive pieces are created using acrylics and pigments on canvas or linen.
