About this artwork
My work always begins with reality — with observation, encounter, and the photographic impulse to document. Coming from a background in documentary and anthropological photography, I’m drawn to the image as a trace, as an index of presence.
Through experimentation with mixed media and film — printing, reprinting, scanning, layering — I question this very indexical bond. The photograph, once evidence of what has been, becomes a mutable surface where… meaning dissolves and reforms. In this space of instability, I explore how photographic truth can still exist when its foundations are no longer certain
