About this artwork
This work captures the moment when the calm of the desert is overwhelmed by nature's unpredictability. The clouds, dense and shifting, dominate the golden landscape with a force that seems to announce the fragility of every balance. The light, still present but uncertain, cuts across the horizon like a thin line between what was stable and what is about to be shaken.
The symbolic meaning emerges in the dialogue between heaven and earth: the storm,… sudden and inexorable, represents the irruption of the unexpected, the fracture that reveals our vulnerability. A single shock, a shift in the wind, is enough to remind us that we are never truly ready. However, in that awareness also arises the possibility of transformation—the acceptance that every crisis is a transition, a necessary opening to finding a new, more authentic and vital balance.
Francesco Pellerano, painter, draftsman, printmaker, and digital artist, trained at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts and enriched his sensibility with his experience in restoration. His research oscillates between lyrical abstraction and evocative figuration, with visionary landscapes constructed through layered materials, contrasts, and acrylic washes that convey a sense of poetic instability. His works are imbued with nostalgia and desire, inviting the viewer to explore the subtle boundary between reality and mirage and immerse themselves in suspended emotions and introspection.
