About this artwork
"Imperfect Movement" is born from the tension between chance and control, where each stroke becomes a trace of the unrepeatable. I work with material as if it were memory: eroding layers, transparencies that suggest the passage of time, and gestures that celebrate the beauty of the unfinished.
In this work, imperfection is not a lack of balance, but the life force that makes it possible. Blue and turquoise create a space of apparent calm, pierced… by black gestures that burst forth like necessary scars, reminding us that all true movement bears within itself the mark of the unexpected.
“Imperfect Movement” is not limited to being contemplated: it demands to be read as a visual manifesto on the beauty of the unfinished, opening a dialogue that no viewer—nor any time—can fully close.
Gabriel Lass, painter and sculptor, began his artistic path outlining houses and gardens, but found in painting a place to eternalize feelings. It uses an aesthetic of expressive abstraction, using vibrant colors and dynamic strokes, often with acrylic, seeking textures and layers with different tools and brushes for visual and tactile impact. His work is an eloquent testimony of his deepest emotions, life experiences and significant moments, building an emotional dialogue with the viewer.
