About this artwork
This figurative painting depicts a woman urging silence with her finger raised to her lips, while looking directly at the viewer. The depiction of women is a central theme in my work—often deliberately distorted, cubistically fractured, and expressively exaggerated. Thus, the figure remains recognizable on the one hand, but simultaneously opens up an interpretive challenge: With each new look, new facets and details can be discovered.
My signature… style remains present in this work as well. Striking lines, the use of filler, and the combination of acrylic and oil paints characterize the image. I've incorporated fragments of the Küsnacht newspaper into some of the background, creating additional tension and opening up a new layer of context and meaning.

For 25 years, freelance artist Laprokay has dedicated herself to painting. Her works combine shapes, colors, and perspectives, often punctuated by geometric elements. Characteristic lines lend the images dynamism, while humor and empathy allow her to capture the essence of humanity. In portraits, she brings personalities to life, transforming everyday scenes into touching stories. Her artistic career began in Germany, shaped by training, numerous exhibitions in Europe, and her own events. Always eager to experiment, she develops new forms of expression and combines technical skill with creativity. Her paintings express joie de vivre, dedication, and the conviction that art is a universal language that connects people.
