About this artwork
I was inspired by the world's most expensive wines and developed the idea of capturing their elegant labels. Five bottles are carefully arranged on the table, each with its own presence and character. The depiction is cubist, deliberately breaking up and recomposing forms and perspectives.
As is typical in my work, the background is multi-layered and elaborately designed in acrylic, complemented by subtle shading in oil that adds depth and materiality.… This work is part of the IN VINO VERITAS series, in which the glass, wine, and its symbolism of pleasure, fragility, and truth are recurring themes.
