In this work, I captured a moment of lightness and quiet observation. It depicts a boy whose body is only partially depicted—only his legs are visible. He casually holds an empty glass in his hand, which hangs casually at the bottom. He sits on a jetty by the lake and directs his gaze at the water's surface, where a bird is just about to land.
The background, as is typical of my work, is multi-layered and elaborately designed in acrylic. It possesses… a vibrant depth that gives the motifs space and is further enhanced by subtle oil shading. This work is part of my IN VINO VERITAS series, in which the glass recurs repeatedly as a central symbol of transience, perception, and the nuances of human experience.
