About this artwork
In this work, I drew inspiration from my research into the world's most expensive wines. A single bottle takes center stage in the composition, flanked by three glasses. While the bottle and the table appear clearly in cubist forms, I deliberately designed the glasses in a free, abstract language. This contrast between austerity and dissolution creates a special tension.
The background was created from many layers of acrylic, which I enhanced with… fine oils. This creates a multifaceted atmosphere that lends the motif additional intensity. The painting is part of my IN VINO VERITAS series, in which wine is continually reinterpreted as a vehicle for luxury, fragility, and the search for truth.
