About this artwork
Part of the Haloform series by Koko Louise Nalty
In Auralith, I explore the tension between rupture and radiance through fluid abstraction. Using acrylic paint, acrylic inks, and concentrated pigments, I build layered compositions that resemble geological faultlines, molten terrain, and shifting cosmic structures suspended within deep negative space.
The work emerged through an intuitive process of movement, reaction, and release, allowing colour,… texture, and material to interact organically across the canvas. Vibrant yellows, electric blues, and burning reds move through darker voids, creating a sense of energy caught in transformation.
As part of my Haloform series, this painting continues my exploration of transformation as a living process — fluid, unpredictable, and constantly reforming. I’m drawn to the point where chaos begins to form structure, and where destruction and beauty can coexist simultaneously.
I am an Australian multidisciplinary artist working across digital and physical mediums, drawing on a background in visual arts, applied arts, and professional makeup artistry. My practice is grounded in fluid, process-driven techniques—particularly resin and acrylic paint pouring—where I balance structure with spontaneity to create richly layered abstractions influenced by digital texture mapping and typography. Through texture, movement, and intuition, my work invites viewers into meditative spaces that explore vulnerability, memory, and transformation through quiet emotional resonance.
