About this artwork
Tectonic Bloom explores the moment where pressure gives way to emergence. I created this work as a response to fracture not as collapse, but as a generative force—where movement, tension, and instability allow something vivid to surface.
Using an intuitive acrylic pouring process, I allowed colour to flow, collide, and rupture across the surface. Layers of molten reds, golds, blues, and turquoise behave like shifting plates, forming luminous pathways… shaped by gravity, time, and chance. Metallic and mica pigments catch the light as the viewer moves, creating a sense of continual motion and energy beneath the surface.
This painting reflects my ongoing fascination with transformation through disruption. Like geological change, the bloom here is not gentle or orderly—it is born from heat, friction, and pressure. What emerges is both volatile and radiant, a reminder that beauty can arise from instability, and that fractures often carry the conditions needed for growth.
I am an Australian multidisciplinary artist working across digital and physical mediums, drawing on a background in visual arts, applied arts, and professional makeup artistry. My practice is grounded in fluid, process-driven techniques—particularly resin and acrylic paint pouring—where I balance structure with spontaneity to create richly layered abstractions influenced by digital texture mapping and typography. Through texture, movement, and intuition, my work invites viewers into meditative spaces that explore vulnerability, memory, and transformation through quiet emotional resonance.
