About this artwork
Residual Acidity is part of my Luminous Fractures series, which explores how pressure, reaction, and slow corrosion can become sites of transformation rather than collapse. I’m drawn to processes that continue quietly over time, altering form from within rather than through visible rupture.
This work was created through an intuitive acrylic pouring process, allowing fluid movement, gravity, and pigment interaction to guide the surface. Layers of… deep green, mineral blue, and earthen red form cellular structures and flowing pathways that suggest etching, seepage, and contained reaction. Variations in opacity and texture evoke acidity as something active but restrained — present without being destructive.
For me, this piece reflects endurance through change, leaving behind traces of energy, memory, and persistence.
I am an Australian multidisciplinary artist working across digital and physical mediums, drawing on a background in visual arts, applied arts, and professional makeup artistry. My practice is grounded in fluid, process-driven techniques—particularly resin and acrylic paint pouring—where I balance structure with spontaneity to create richly layered abstractions influenced by digital texture mapping and typography. Through texture, movement, and intuition, my work invites viewers into meditative spaces that explore vulnerability, memory, and transformation through quiet emotional resonance.
