About this artwork
Twilight deepens, painting the water rich blue and purple. Reflections of light around the pool's perimeter create mysterious shimmering traces on the water. The boy appears completely absorbed in his work, focused on maintaining his balance on the board. His posture and concentrated gaze convey a strong desire to win and a desire to conquer the elements. The overall atmosphere conveys the positive spirit of training, despite the late hour. The powerful…
energy and vibrant contrasts of the water inspired me to create this painting.

I, Galyna Antonenko, am an architect by training.
I studied painting for six years in the private studio of the renowned Ukrainian artist V. Sosna. I use primarily bright acrylic paints in my works.
My art is an attempt to stop time.
When I paint women's portraits, it's as if I whisper to them: "Stop, moment—you are so beautiful!"
I am inspired by those brief, almost imperceptible moments when a person becomes truly visible—without posing, without protection, simply themselves.
The women in my paintings are not models, but reflections of inner strength, vulnerability, and beauty in simplicity.
I seek in every face that facet of light where life is hidden.
Children's portraits occupy a special place in my work. Adults strive to appear, while children strive simply to feel. And I strive to capture this pure feeling: delight, surprise, sadness, joy—everything that makes us alive. My paintings are more than just images. It is a dialogue with the moment.
