About this artwork
An upright, four-legged box form with a small round aperture at its centre. The surfaces are rugged and hand-worked; a crown of blade-like spikes rises from the top, reading as flame or a tree. Conceived as a personal ritual piece, it invites a simple act: write a worry on a tiny slip of paper, drop it through the opening and burn it—letting heat and smoke carry it away. The work sits between cabinet, shrine and folk-magic tool, a container for release…
and renewal. Dark, matte patina and sharp edges emphasise its tactile textures. A compact contemporary metal sculpture for meditation, catharsis and everyday ritual.
Gediminas Endriekus
Lithuania
Endriekus, with a background in Sculpture from Vilnius Academy of Arts, utilizes concrete and bronze. His meticulous creation of figurative sculptures channels ancient mythology, capturing humanity and their animal counterparts. Through the use of longstanding archetypes, Endriekus portrays existential themes addressing life's evolution and humanity's dawn – the unfathomable crossover into consciousness. His work is a contemplative musing on the nature of existence, its revealed miracle stirring deep-felt wonderment.
