About this artwork
In my artwork, I have captured a playful, almost dreamlike vision of Amsterdam that is both vibrant and profound. The intense colors and dynamic composition take the viewer into a world where reality and fantasy merge. Every element, from the delicately distorted buildings to the gentle reflection in the water, is designed to create an atmosphere of curiosity and wonder. This painting will bring a unique energy and joy to any room.
“Amsterdammertijs”… - These are the columns cast at the end of the nineteenth century from the cannons of the East India Company ships. and installed by private individuals and by the city of Amsterdam. Now they are being dismantled in many places, and sometimes the columns themselves become objects of rarity and auctions.
“Amsterdammertijs” - This is the name of this painting, full of the charm of Dutch coziness and fairy tales.
We are surrounded by an incomprehensible world in which you can get lost. We look into it and try to find ourselves. This is an ongoing process. The artist sees deeper and tries to convey what he saw. What he was able to see and express becomes a fact that did not exist before. The artist's life is a journey. He will never be satisfied until the end. He will always look into this world and create facts. Connoisseurs will look for definitions, connoisseurs will discover new colors, children will enjoy pictures. At some point the artist asks himself and others: "What is happening? What is this world, where are we? What is this life we live?" He collects his work and makes an exhibition. Most likely, there will be no exact answer, new questions arise that are the engines of this journey called life.
