The title of this work evokes one of the most famous sites of Antiquity (along with Pompeii), a place where nature unleashed its fury in the form of a volcanic eruption that ravaged the surrounding settlements. A rugged, untamed texture dominates the form of the body, as if the latter were imprisoned within volcanic matrix: the mineral matter is stronger than life, which it has frozen in its movement for eternity.
