About this artwork
With this painting I have recreated one of our most memorable diving experiences. Returning from a deep dive off of the coast of Isabella in the Galapagos, my wife and I were doing a decompression stop at 5 meters in open water hanging on a surface marker bouy (SMB).
Out of the mist a very large shark came lazily gliding towards us. It passed within touching distance and continued quite unperturbed on its way.
We surfaced and returned to the boat… for a change of underwear.
