About this artwork
A night dive on a coral reef in the Red Sea is always exhilarating. In this painting the divers lamp picks out a magnificent featherstar or crinoid, with its sticky feeding arms spread out to catch plankton particles carried on the current. Two longjaw squIrrel fishes draw back under the reef overhang away from the glare of the diver's lamp.
