About this artwork
man and plastic: a melee between victim and executioner; a tribal dance within an ideal Eden.
Awakenings_100% Biodegradable is an invitation to action and, in turn, a specific way of acting to give life to change: a "reawakening" of the consciences communicated not only through the photographic message but, above all, through the works themselves, conceived and created as real photographic installations of ethical value: fine art printing on cotton… paper suspended in a glass and wood case is at the same time a means of raising awareness of the use of biodegradable materials and a symbol of that sort of "suspension" in which we find the future of humanity and life on Earth, a future subordinate to the choice, today necessary, to adopt a responsible and 100% biodegradable behavior.

Gianluca Chiodi is an established Italian photographer with national exposure. Inspired by Italian operas, Caravaggio, and the romanticism of painting, he composes photographs that blur visual reality, fantasy and sensuality together into an irresistible, sensory aesthetic. In doing so, Chiodi explores subjects such as the human body and the power of its movement, the environment and its protection, and people and their vices.
