About this artwork
In this photograph, a naked man walks alone in a deserted Eden, a landscape now saturated with smoke and waste, a symbol of contaminated and irreversible beauty. The scene is pervaded by an intense light that enhances the blood red of the dominant tones, accentuating the visceral power of the image. The atmosphere is rarefied, charged with energy and intensity, as if the landscape itself were immersed in an explosion of primordial force. The figure… of the man, naked and vulnerable, mirrors a nature that, although now overwhelmed by devastation, still retains a ferocious and overwhelming beauty. The photograph not only documents the condition of a destroyed environment, but invites us to reflect on the fragility of man in the face of his own creations, allowing a sense of tension to emerge between pure energy and imminent ruin.

Gianluca Chiodi is an established Italian photographer with national exposure. Inspired by Italian operas, Caravaggio, and the romanticism of painting, he composes photographs that blur visual reality, fantasy and sensuality together into an irresistible, sensory aesthetic. In doing so, Chiodi explores subjects such as the human body and the power of its movement, the environment and its protection, and people and their vices.
