About this artwork
This painting explores bodies leaning into each other, but the support is never just one directional. It’s always shifting and the figures are caught in a state of balance which could tip either way. For me it suggests care and both strength and vulnerability.
Colour and gestural brushstrokes carry as much weight as the forms themselves. This tension between closeness and separation is something I return to over and over again. They echo the fragility… of our experiences.
