About this artwork
This painting was born from a moment of utter despair, an instant in which the soul seemed lost in the shadow of torment. These are moments when anguish consumes us, when hope becomes a distant whisper and the weight of existence oppresses us. In despair, a dialogue arises between the depths of our being and our Creator: "Why are you cast down, O my soul? Why are you troubled within me? Wait for God, for I will yet give him thanks; He is salvation…
from His presence. O my God, my soul is cast down within me" (Psalm 42:5-6).
The creative process reflected that fragmented state of consciousness. There was no planning, no absolute control over the technique—only the urgent need to externalize the pain, to allow the canvas to become a witness and confidant of an internal struggle that could not be expressed in words. The work emerged from a place of disconnection, as if it weren't my hand guiding the brush, but the torment itself.
