About this artwork
This work is born from the contemplation of our fragility and the fleeting nature of existence, inspired by Psalm 39:4: "Lord, make me know my end and the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am." The figure, with her head slightly bowed and her face covered by her hair, evokes a silent surrender, an acceptance of the inevitable. Light and shadow converse in golden and ochre tones against profound contrasts, symbolizing the duality of… our earthly presence and the uncertainty of the future. Each brushstroke was an act of introspection; the texture, far from perfect, exudes the intensity of the creative moment. This painting is an invitation to pause, contemplate, and recognize that our vulnerability is not weakness, but a truth that returns us to our essence.
Glenda Padrón is a painter trained in Cuba and Spain, specializing in stage design and psychology, using oil and acrylic on canvas. Her figurative expressionist style is characterized by the distortion of the human figure to deepen the message, focusing on existential conflicts and the search for freedom. Her works convey an intense emotional charge, inviting reflection on the complex inner universe influenced by the social environment.
