"Side View" is a unique portrait that boldly departs from the conventional in both form and material. The anonymous figure in side view—gender-neutral, silent, and introspective—is created not by painted lines, but by real wool threads precisely applied to the canvas in three different thicknesses. This textile formal language lends the figure an almost sculptural presence and an unusual tactile quality.
The background is made of free-flowing acrylic… paint, whose vibrant interplay enhances the contrast with the stationary figure. The dominant colors—muted green, violet, white, and beige—create a calm, contemplative atmosphere. A central white wool texture draws the eye back to the figure, creating visual balance.
