About this artwork
* Oriental water-based pigments on Korean paper (Jangji)
I used to feel pure joy in images themselves, free from any judgment.
In other words, visual sensation was my essential joy.
Being naturally curious and sensory-rich, I tended to feel even the smallest things intensely.
What allowed me to escape the overwhelming emotional floods since childhood was precisely this essential joy of sight. It was so profound that it utterly disarmed… both the tragedies and happiness in my life, anchoring me in absolute, immersive bliss.

Hari Park is a painter and digital visual artist from South Korea, trained in traditional East Asian painting and deeply rooted in the use of mineral pigments, mother-of-pearl, silk, and 3D technology. She masterfully layers delicate mineral pigments onto mulberry paper and silk, creating luminous abstract surfaces that blend classical techniques with contemporary mixed media, such as digital animation and interdisciplinary collaborations with dance and music. With her practice, she conveys meditative serenity, inner peace, and profound self-reflection, inviting viewers to connect with their own emotions and experience the world more deeply.
