I paint with acrylics on 140 lb. watercolor paper, using the process of layering the paint and scratching back to reveal unique colors and textures in my paintings.
Spring Landscape is a continuation of my seasonal paintings. Here in Atlanta spring has sprung so it was easy to picture in my mind a spring setting. I used lots of bright yellow greens, as the lovely spring leaves are bursting forth. The… azaleas are in bloom, I chose to put in pink and white ones, along with the native flame azaleas that are so striking. The blooming dogwood in our backyard was the inspiration for the dogwood and I also added a cherry tree. The irises are blooming now, I love the spiked leaves in contrast to the flowers. I tried to capture the vividness and intensity of this season.
