About this artwork
Netherlands, May 2020
Photo published in Gregory Herpe's photo book "A Coronew World", in 2021.
Invited to an artist residency throughout the month of May 2020, the photographer creates a masked portrait every day symbolizing our attempts to protect against the corona virus, against our fears, our pains ... The mask is sometimes symbolic; he protects us from everything and looks like us.
The mask, made with corks, hides the addiction of this model:… alcoholism. She holds a corkscrew like a gun that she could point at herself. Our addictions destroy us and it is so difficult to fight them ...
Numbered, signed, certificate of authenticity.
